The Chemistry Network

The Chemistry Department Network is a switched 10/100 Mbps (12.5 MB/s) ethernet network running on Category 5e copper cabling. Each floor of the Chemistry Building is connected to a fiber optic network running at 1 Gbps (125 MB/s). This network connects to the campus backbone via a 1 Gbps fiber optic link.

The Chemistry Network provides approximately 480 faculty, staff, and students and researchers with high-speed access to departmental, campus, and internet resources. In this network, there are about 700 network devices, which include instruments, printers and scanners, and computers (Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Unix operating systems). There are various departmental printers are available for use.
